Year 8 students had a fantastic day last Friday at their subject selection ‘taster day’. The snapshot day, led by Leaders of Learning and staff currently teaching these classes, provided students with the opportunity to be involved in hands-on experiences related to electives on offer. It was wonderful to see students’ enthusiasm and engagement in their learning.

Congratulations to the U13s Rugby League side who, with their convincing win yesterday, have finished first in Conference 3.

Good luck to the U13 Rugby League and Intermediate A Football teams who have progressed to the quarter finals of the @sydcatholicschools Championships.

Last week, we hosted the Conference 3 Chess Gala Day. It was a wonderful event and all of our teams had wins throughout the day. Well done to all of the students who represented the College with great Marist spirit and to their coach Mrs Hesson.
Special congratulations to the Junior and Intermediate A and B teams who took out 1st and 2nd place in both divisions. They are off to the Sydney Catholic Schools Chess Championships next week. We wish the teams every success!

Last Wednesday, the Year 10 Aviation class took off on an excursion to Bankstown Aerodrome.

One of the highlights was flying a Boeing 737 using a flight simulator—an experience far beyond any video game they have encountered.

The group also visited an aircraft hangar where a trainee pilot walked them through the process of planning a flight. The experience continued with hands-on time inside two training aircraft, including the Cessna 172. The pilot demonstrated essential pre-flight safety checks, emphasissing the importance of thorough preparation before takeoff.

The students gained valuable insights into the daily life of a pilot and explored various career pathways in aviation.
