The Marine Masters class put their skills and hand made fishing rods to the test at Gunnamatta Bay Wharf last Wednesday. It was a beautiful day for fishing and the students caught many species including Baby Snapper, Bream, and a Blue Swimmer Crab. It was an excellent opportunity for students to put their knowledge of sustainable fishing methods, including catch and release, bag limits and size limits, into practice.

Last week, Year 11 attended their Senior Retreat at Stanwell Tops, with the theme of servant leadership— a theme that holds profound significance in our daily lives and in the world.
During the three day experience, students participated in activities that explored the areas of; Rhythm of Life, My Future, Nature and the Sacred, and Personal Challenge.

The 30km Lake Macquarie Kokoda Challenge pays tribute to the sacrifices, bravery and perseverance of WWII soldiers during their time on the Kokoda Track in New Guinea.
Last weekend, Jake and Filipp of Year 10 challenged themselves to run the 30km track. It was raining as they set off and the terrain was wet and muddy. Later on, the track was rocky and 1km elevation resulted in sections where the boys had to climb. Their team placed first out of all of the three person teams, completing the track in an incredible time of 4 hours and 15 minutes. Congratulations Jake and Filipp!
