Congratulations to the Marist College Kogarah Class of 2022 on your outstanding HSC results!
Our school has placed 172nd in The Sydney Morning Herald rankings.
We also recorded 68 Distinguished Achievers, one All Rounder and two Top Achievers.
The college also received a First in Course honour, with Mario Baroud topping the state in Mathematics Standard 2. Mario also placed First in Diocese for Software Design and Development.
Additionally, 100% of Category A subjects were above state average, while 56% of results were Band 5 and 6, and 92% were Band 4,5 and 6.
The college excelled in the arts, with 100% of students in Music 1 and Visual Arts attaining a Band 5 or 6.
Simon Ghantous, College Principal, congratulated Year 12 on their fantastic efforts.
“Their work ethic and resilience was very impressive,” Mr Ghantous said.
“The college had many 90+ ATAR students who worked very hard to achieve their results.”
System success
Sydney Catholic Schools has achieved outstanding results in the 2022 HSC with nine of its 33 schools ranked among the top 100 high schools in NSW.
A total of 17 schools ranked among the top 150 secondary schools, underlining Sydney Catholic Schools’ position as one of the top performing systems in Australia.
Sydney Catholic Schools recorded an impressive 2630 Distinguished Achievers, 66 Top Achievers and 58 All Rounders.

Here’s a recap of our 2022 HSC highlights:
- 68 Distinguished Achievers – lists the students who achieved a result in the highest band (Band 6 or Band E4) for one or more courses, not including results for courses studied external to their school
- Two Top Achievers – student(s) who achieved one of the highest places in an HSC course or VET examination and also achieved a result in the highest band (Band 6 or Band E4)
- One All Rounder – number of students scoring above 90 in at least 10 units
